As time slides by, it is very easy to forget that baby memory books are a fantastic way to keep all those cherished memories alive and they are a great newborn gift idea. The problem is that we are all busy and we often say to ourselves that we will add items to our baby memory book a few days from now.
Other people seem to be able to keep all sorts of items and souvenirs to rekindle those fond memories and to be able to naturally come up with all sorts of unique and varied items that just seem to make sense after we are told about them.
For those of us that have a hard time with keeping those special things to add to our baby memory books, this article, and many others about keepsakes, may just help you a little.
Some items that you may not think about will be mentioned, and there are also some obvious ones. The first thing you need to do is to purchase a suitable memories book so that you can add a multitude of items to it over the years. Some people have several of these books with each one being designated for a certain period of time or developmental period.
Obvious things to keep in baby memories book are first imprint from the hospital, first picture taken, hospital bracelet, and first blanket that newborn was wrapped in on the way home.
Some things that you may not have considered, or, in some cases you may not want to consider are:
Baby's first diaper used at home (assuming it is a cloth diaper, and obviously washed)
The very first toy ever touched by your baby
The favourite mobile in your baby's room
First tooth picture
Baby's first teething ring
The very first booty worn given to you as a gift by a relative
The special outfit baby was dressed in for their baptism
First wash cloth ever used to wash their little body
The first bottle used to feed them (obviously doesn't fit in a book, but a real keepsake)
First soother
First picture of them trying to walk, and
First time daddy held baby at home after returning from hospital
These are just a few of the items that can form as number of baby memory books. You probably can think of a lot more.
